Configuration¶
Nodes¶
Cluster management allows you to dynamically change the cluster size after the initial installation. This refers to adding and removing nodes, or to taking nodes down for maintenance without system downtime. cluster management system includes an automatic rebalancing feature which strives to balance the load on all the nodes of the system. This enables individual nodes and the system as a whole to accommodate spikes in resource usage of VMS, without degradation in performance.
Instance Types¶
An Instance Type is the basic building block of any VM. It determines the number of virtual CPUs and the amount of RAM (GiBs) of the VMs. Two types of instance types are supported:
Predefined instance types, (parallel to the AWS instance types)
Custom instance types
This service allows the cloud admin to configure new Instance types
Settings¶
Control the system behaviour by setting parameters and preferences
Upgrades¶
Robust and easy to use hot upgrade capabilities. Hot Upgrade removes the burden of managing complex upgrading sessions so that IT leaders can control and manage the process with just a single click. The upgrade runs in the background and the software updates without interruption to operations or running applications.
External Endpoints¶
External endpoints allow the cloud admin to describe endpoints outside of the compute cluster, and then refer to them from within certain services such as:
Data Protection services use external endpoints for backup
- Event and Log services use external endpoints to send their
information to external logging systems
- he Resource Tracker uses external endpoints to send usage data for
billing purposes
Region Networking¶
Edge Networks¶
This is a routable network which allows guests to connect to the office network, and to private networks via a virtual router. Floating IPs will be allocated on this network.
Node Networks¶
This is a private network used as the virtual data fabric serving both the storage layer and the live migration of the virtual machines.
Direct Networks¶
This network is used to connect to Zadara Storage cloud Frontend network and allows usage of VPSA files shares and Object Storage.
Virtual IPs¶
These are used to access the system as API access, Data protection connection and Support.
Region DNS¶
A region (cluster-wide) hosted zone which allows the definition of DNS names that are exposed via the API (e.i. EC2, ELB), and are globally resolvable externally to valid DNS records. Region Zone-level DNS services support all Route 53 DNS record types.
Storage¶
Pools¶
Storage pools are HDD or SSD VPSA pools dedicated for the EBS service
Console¶
AWS¶
From within the GUI, you can use the AWS console (AWs Shell) to run AWS CLI commands against any of the IaaS services.
